Pumpkin Clean-er

How does one celebrate a season when tell-tale weather doesn’t cooperate?

My Instagram friend @annivanderbeek (I say friend lightly. I messaged her once and she responded 🤣) lives in Florida, and is always trying to stimulate feelings of the season despite the Floridian weather. How does one “Fall” without crisp leaves?

She has mentioned before that she likes to start a new era or season of life with a new fragrance—an idea that I love by the way—and I noticed she does this in her home as well, but with cleaning products. In this video, she creates her own multi-purpose cleaner to bring fall fragrance into her home and I felt inspired to do the same. I made a bottle for myself, but also made extras as little party favors when the neighborhood girls came over for drinks a few weeks ago. And they LOVED them!

Here’s everything you need:

Here’s how you make it:

  1. Add 1.5 cups distilled water to spray bottle

  2. Add 1/2 cup 70% isopropyl alcohol

  3. Add 1 TBS castile soap

  4. Add 15-20 drops of essential oil

  5. Swirl gently to combine

Enjoy!

**Don’t use on wood, natural stone or unfinished surfaces as the alcohol can damage them.

***Because I wasn’t sure how “pumpkin-y” everyone would like their fragrance, a small disclaimer was given with each bottle. The 20 drops of essential oil I used was very strong, so if they found it was too strong for their liking, I told them to gently swirl the ingredients to make sure they were well combined, then to dump out a third of the bottle and fill with more distilled water and/or alcohol. This should dilute the fragrance.
